ghg emissions footprint from potential feedstock production of biodiesel fuel (case study)

چکیده
population growth and increasing industrial and agricultural activities that cause ghg emissions and risk from environmental management is a serious challenge. in this research, the ghg emissions from peanut production as a potential feedstock for biodiesel fuel was investigated. data were collected through interviews with 75 peanut farmers. the cultivated areas were divided into three categories based on the size of peanut farms as 0.1–0.5 ha, 0.5-1 ha and larger than 1 ha. the results revealed that total ghg emissions of peanut production was obtained 822.29 kg co2eq ha-1. the highest share of ghg emissions belonged to diesel fuel (57.90%) followed by machinery (18.6%).the mean difference between total ghg emissions per unit area among farm sizes including 0.1–0.5 ha and larger than 1 ha was significant at 5% level. larger farms from 1 ha had the minimum amount of ghg emissions. also, ghg emissions from peanut production as a potential feedstock for on liter biodiesel fuel production were calculated 1.17 kgco2eqha-1.

متن کاملComparison study of biodiesel fuel production from sunflower oil using by ultrasound and heat
In this research, a comparison of biodiesel produced by ultrasound and heat methods was investigated. Methanol was used as the alcohol with molarity 3, 6 and 9 and KOH 0.5, 1 and 1.5 wt.% As a catalyst. In ultrasound technique, five vibrating pulse levels and three time levels were used. The results indicate that biodiesel produced by ultrasound in some properties includes a flash point of abou...

15 صفحه اولA Comparative Study of Biodiesel Production from Beef Bone Marrow
This study is concerned with the viability of producing biodiesel from waste beef bone fat and evaluate this product according to the quality requirements defined by ASTM D- 6751. Accordingly, beef bone fat was heated to remove the moisture under vacuum at 60 . Alkaline Catalysed Transesterfication was carried out by using 6:1 molar ratio of ethanol to fat in the presence of 1% w/w sodium hydr...
متن کاملWaste Cooking Oil as an Alternate Feedstock for Biodiesel Production
As crude oil price reach a new high, the need for developing alternate fuels has become acute. Alternate fuels should be economically attractive in order to compete with currently used fossil fuels. In this work, biodiesel (ethyl ester) was prepared from waste cooking oil collected from a local restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ethyl alcohol with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst was use...
